Whitework techniques
are stitched on linen fabric or evenweave using linen thread, perle coton,
broder or floss and include Hardanger, Hemstitching, Pulled Thread, Drawn
Thread, Ukrainian Whitework, Danish Whitework, Schwalm, Italian Whitework and
Casalquidi Embroidery, to name a few.
Some years we do a year-long
project focusing on one particular form of Whitework. Other times we might just
select a specialty stitches that can then be incorporated into our other
projects.
This special interest group
has met for the past twenty-one years and meets once a month on the third
Wednesday in Huntington Beach, from 11:30-2:00. A person must be a member of
the chapter in order to attend.
